The Navigate Programme was born out of a piece of consultancy work helping to develop a coaching culture in a social inclusion charity 2021. The programme itself was written from our experiences and lessons both Colab and the organisation wanted to highlight, and focused on wellbeing and personal freedom. As the idea developed, we were able to secure match funding that meant that we were able to properly develop the resource for use in a variety of contexts, and now we’ve created this blog series to walk through some of the material.
In this blog series you’ll be able to get an insight into the 12 sessions of Navigate, originally delivered over a number of weeks, and fitting alongside sessions with a trained coach. Our aim is to share the valuable principles in this programme to help others to experience the life-changing impact of these principles and practices. Though the sessions are written to be suitable for a working environment, the priciples are based on our own experience of our Christian faith, and the practices are those that align with the Christian tradition and Jesus’ teaching. However, those of other or no-faith will find the sessions to be open, challenging and true.
Navigate was made to be delivered to a group of people, run as sessions, and so there are a number of activites that don’t translate into the blog format. Not only that, the session touch on some deep topics, and each of these topics are best reflected upon with another person, or group of people. For these reasons some of the content of Navigate has been changed to suit this format, but there is still some content that may stir up emotion. If you find that you would like to process some of the content that is touched upon in these sessions, get in touch – coaching might be the right place to start.
The sessions are group into three categories, the first of which is to do with the processes of being present, hope, and learning truth to live by. The second group of four sessions are about some of the ‘bumps in the road’, unlearning untruthes, and moving beyond the past. The final group are centered around comitting to growth and taking on habits and principles that help us be more free. Put another way, the process is of orientation, disorientation and re-orientation.
Our hope is that these post will act as an invitation for new groups and people to take this journey toward freedom. At Colab we offer team days and one way form that takes is the Navigate Programme, which can be condensed to fit in a limited time. Get in touch if you are interested in seeing the Navigate Programme come to your context.
