What is Colab?

October 29, 2020

We believe that we are called to co-labour with God’s work in the world. Colab was created because we believe that we are to work this out in two main ways.

  1. To follow Spirit’s prompting to build God’s Kingdom
  2. To co-work with others in creating space & providing tools for this work

The language for this collaboration is taken from the passage from 1 Corinthians:

‘for we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.’

– 1 Corinthians 3:9 (NIV)

Through spending time praying, thinking and seeking God, two main words stood out to us from this passage; ‘building’ and ‘field’. From this, we felt that God was leading us to co-work with Spirit’s move in two main ways; to encourage people to ‘be’ buildings and to ‘go’, working in God’s field. For us our understanding of God and our own discipleship journey has been wrapped up in this Great Invitation from God. We remember though, that this invitation is God’s and God’s alone, and we know, as the passage continues, that it is God’s garden, God’s foundation, so we do these things only in response to God’s Spirit at work.

Our mission is this: Co-labouring in God’s Kingdom, creating spaces & providing tools to explore how to ‘be’ and ‘go’.

&

We want to say, loud and clear, that you are not alone in your work for God. You are not alone. We are not alone. We are co-workers; working together for God.

We will focus on ‘being’ as disciples of Jesus. To build our inner lives, our self-awareness, and to explore our personal spirituality. We extend this great invitation to you. Why not try coaching? Book into an event or read our blog?

We will focus on ‘going’ as co-workers with God. Labouring in God’s field, developing our understanding of purpose, developing skills and creating opportunities for others. We extend this great invitation to you. Could your church or organisation be blessed by working with us? What does mission look like for you right now?

To realise these two aims we will create spaces of learning, of reflection, and of opportunity. We will offer tools for this work, equipping ourselves and others for the work of Kingdom growth.

Colab: Co-labouring in God’s Kingdom, creating spaces & providing tools to explore how to ‘be’ and ‘go’.

We would like to invite you on this journey. How can we resource you? We are tentatively stretching our legs, just testing the water and listening to Spirit’s prompting in how this works out. We have big dreams, but we are holding them lightly. In the coming weeks we are going to be starting to share some of the tools and resources, so give us a follow on Facebook & Instagram to keep up to date!
